Cindi Lux is a professional racing driver and high performance driving instructor. She competes in the SPEED World Challenge GT Series. She has also competed in the Petit Le Mans endurance series.
Cindi’s record of success dates back to her earliest day’s on-track. In 1992, still learning her craft, she won the Northwest Pat Piggot Memorial Award for the most outstanding driver on the shoulders of multiple Club-level race wins.
Several seasons of amateur racing lent themselves to her first professional victories in the American Le Mans Series’ Women’s Global GT Series in 1999. In that series inaugural season, Lux was on the podium 5 out of 6 races and two pole positions on the way to the title in the all-female race series.
That important step took her to the first of two Petit Le Mans endurance races the same year and a top-five finish in GT class in 2000. These performances made the racing world standup and take notice of the Northwestern driver who didn’t crumble under pressure.
Returning to Club racing in 2001, Cindi again set the mark for all competitors. 2004 and 2006 saw her win the prestigious SCCA June Sprints T1 division titles - first with a Chevrolet Corvette Z06, then a Dodge Viper SRT/10.
In the SCCA’s National Championship, known as the “Runoffs”, Cindi repeatedly performed well earning top-five finishes in 2003 and 2005. In 2006, she won the silver medal with her 2nd place finish. This was heart breaking as she was leading the race with one lap remaining. Her consistent performance earned her the SCCA NorPac Division T1 title every year from 2003 through 2006.
Results didn't stop there. 2007 saw her join the ranks of the SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT Series in a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. Over the course of the next two seasons, Lux received two Rookie of the Race awards, a Holeshot award (most positions gained on the opening lap) and a Hard Charger award (most positions gained in a race), four top-15, five top-ten finishes and one top-five result.
Over the course of her racing career, she's accumulated 80 victories and another 77 podium finishes along with 50 pole positions while collecting 12 road racing championships and numerous track records. She was only the second woman in history to win the SCCA June Sprints and has been a Dodge and then Mopar factory driver since 2005. Cindi received the prestigious “Pro-Driver SCCA Driver-of-the-Year Award” in 1999 and 2008 and the Oregon SCCA National Driver of the Year in 2003.
