An accomplished driver is his native Argentina, Crespo tried but failed to qualify for just one Formula One Grand Prix, the Italian in 1952, with a Maserati entered by Enrico Platé.

Crespo was an accomplished driver is his native Argentina. He travelled to Europe in 1972 and took part in some non-championship races. He finished 4th in the Grand Prix de l'Albigeois at Albi driving a Talbot-Lago T26C and 10th in the Daily Mail Trophy at Boreham in England in another Talbot-Lago T26C. He failed to finish the Grand Prix de Comminges, a 3 hour endurance race at St.Gaudens in a Maserati A6GCM. He came 6th at the Grand Prix de la Baule in an Enrico Platé entered Maserati 4CLT/48.

He then failed to qualify the same Maserati 4CLT/48 for the 1952 Italian GP. A week later at the Circuit de Cadours he finished 3rd in his heat but went out with suspension failure in the final. Having failed to establish himself in European racing, he returned to Argentina.

He continued to be involved with Argentine motorsport administration until his death.
