Pittsburgh car dealer who raced at Indy once in 1922 finishing 7th. Died suddenly two years later from natural causes.
Isaac Phillips Fetterman was better known as "Red" or I.P. Fetterman, was born and lived his life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a well know car dealer who raced competitively between 1917-1922, with 17 career starts and two wins. He raced for a number of different teams including Peerless, Premier and Deusenberg. Most of his racing was done in Uniontown, PA, however he did race in Kansas City and he entered the Indy 500 in 1922 driving a Straight 8 Duesenberg. He qualified in 13th and in the race crossed the line in 7th.
During his career he scored over 738 career points, averaging 49.2 points per race, his career winnings came to $11.825 dollars.
He died suddenly of natural causes in Pittsburgh in December 1924.
