Born in Walsall, Staffordshire, Alan Rollinson was a talented British F5000 driver who tried to qualify for the 1965 British Grand Prix in a Ford-powered Bob Gerard Racing Cooper T71/73, but failed. However he did enjoy a long and successful career in other formulae both open wheel and sports cars.
