Craig Siebert

American sports car driver who had a brief career in IMSA in 1981 and 1982 finishing second in the Daytona 24 Hour race both years.

First raced in IMSA in 1980 doing two races driving a Porsche Carrera in one and a Mazda RX7 in the other.

He moved up to the top flight in 1981 driving Bob Akin's Coke sponsored Porsche 935 K3 with Bob and Derek Bell. At Daytona the finished second although they were 13 laps down on the winners Bob Garretson, Bobby Rahal and Brian Redman in the Cooke-Woods Racing Porsche 935 K3.

They drove together again at Sebring but failed to finish due to engine problems. He also raced at Le Mans that year joining Bob and Paul Miller for the race. They failed to finish due to an electrical fault on the final lap

Craig and Bob drove together in the Kenwood Stereo 500 Camel GT race at the Pocono International Raceway but posting another DNF.

In 1982 he raced Bob Akin's Coke sponsored Porsche 935 K3 again, once again Dereck Bell joining them and once again finishing second, this time 11 laps behind the winners, John Paul Snr and Jr and Rolf Stommelen in their Porsche 935 Turbo.

At Sebring they finished a dissapointing 12th and 6th in class and at Riverside they finished fourth. Craig and Bob drove together in the Camel GT 500 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, finishing 3rd.

Craig was not seen in sports cars again but did appaear in the Barber Saab Pro Series in 1986, finishing 11th in the series on 22 points.
