Established a world record for a one half mile closed course lap at Winchester, Indiana, on May 5, 1968.

Raced at the Indy 500 three times. He failed to qualify in 1968 in a Gerhardt Offenhauser. In 1969 he qualified his Brabham Offenhauser in 14th but retired on lap 146. He failed to qualify again the following year in the Brabham.
