Real name was Luigi Gilbert Tomei. Raced in the Indy 500 eight time between 1935 and 1946. His best finish was 10th in 1937 driving a Rigling Studebaker. After the war, he worked as an film extra, with his most notable appearance probably being in the Judy Garland & James Mason film "A Star Is Born".
