It really is Neubauer, though you'll have to take our word for that!The Austro-Daimler Sascha was the brain child of Count Alexander Kolowrat-Kratowsky.

Four of these cars were built and entered in the 1922 Targa Florio to be driven by Lambert Pöcher, Fritz Kuhn, Neubauer and the Count himself. It was Neubauer first race and he ended up winning his class.

Note the single mudguard! Mechanics were obviously considered properly waterproof and thus not in need of any weight adding protection!

Neubauer went on to become the manager of the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix team between 1926 and 1955. He was responsible for the introduction of such things as pit boards.
