Ryley is a former downhill skier and Olympic hopeful. Also raced in professional ocean sailboat racing that included two trans-pacific races.
Ryley ran two complete Toyota Atlantic seasons in both 2001 and 2002. He made 24 starts over that time frame, running with Worldspeed Motorsports in ’01 and Lynx Racing in ’02. He earned two podiums and a pole position at Milwaukee in 2001. Prior to joining the Atlantic series, Ryley competed in the Star Mazda Series and the Skip Barber Formula Dodge Western Series. Ryley has been working as a driving instructor for the Skip Barber Racing School. He made his first Atlantic start in nearly three years when he raced for Jensen Motorsport in his hometown of San Jose in Round 9 of the 2005 season.
