Marc Hynes won the 1999 British Formula Three Championship and raced for the WRT team in Formula 3000. He has also tested for the Formula One team British American Racing.

Marc Hynes was born in Guildford, Surrey, England. He started out racing karts and won a number of National champioships between 1990 and 1994.

In 1995 he moved up to single seaters racing with Martin Donnelly Racing in the British Formula Vauxhall series. He won the British Formula Vauxhall Junior Title and the Winter Series and was nominated for the BRDC Mclaren Autosport Young Driver of the Year award.

He stayed with Martin Donnelly Racing for 1996 finishing 5th in the British Formula Vauxhall series.

For 1997 he entered British Formula Renault Sport with Manor Motorsport taking the championship with 8 wins. He also tested for Williams Grand Prix and their touring car team. He also undertook testing for the Promatecme F3 team in preparation for 1998 when he entered British F3 driving Promatecme Renault to 8th in the series. He was also a finalist in the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 series.

In 1999 he won the British F3 Championship with Manor Motorsport, taking six wins on the way to the title, including the British Grand Prix F3 support race. He also won the Marlboro Masters of Formula 3 series.

Stepping up to F3000 in 2001 he had a dissapointing season and in 2001 was relegated to a testing role with British American Racing in F1 and PacWest in Indy Lights. He also undertook some F3 testing.

He took on the role of development driver for Dallara, putting in over 2000km of track time in the Dallara Nissan World Series chassis. He once again also did testing work for Manor Motorsport in the UK and VG Racing in Spain.

He returned to F3000 in 2003 with BNC Lola Zytec in the British Grand Prix support race and tested the Taurus Sports Lola Judd LMP 900 Sports Car.

He has continued in sports car racing.
