The European F3 Championship had been cancelled and so Jordan ran a car in France for Dominique. in 1986 in the First Round of the F3000 Championship had to be stopped due to a serious accident to Dominique Delestre and Thierry Tassin on start-finish straight in rain. Recovering from his 1986 accident, Dominique Delestre made a comeback with Bob Sparshott who also ran a T86/50 testing chassis for Michel Ferté who had to wait for his new car. In 1987 he drove the WM P87 Peugeot at le Mans with Philippe Gache and Roger Dorchy, they retired with engine problems. In 1999 Prost Grand Prix choose to commit themselves even more to F3000 by acquiring APOMATOX. Is was renamed Prostar "F3000 Prost Junior Team" with Dominique as the team manager. Delestre's team was not regarded as a frontrunner until Franck Lagorce joined from DAMS in 1994, in a straight swap with former Apomatox driver Jean-Christophe Boullion. Two victories left Lagorce sharing the points lead with PSRs Gil de Ferran when they came to the final round at Magny Cours, but both were beaten at the last hurdle by Boullion, whose inspired run of three consecutive victories made up for the messy start to his year.
