Swiss Formual 2 driver who competed in the 1969 German Grand Prix. He also drove Siffert's March 701 in the Jochen Rindt Memorial Trophy F1 race at Hockenheim in 1972.

Xavier Perrot
Perrot was born in Zurich, Switzerland. He was a garage owner who started racing in the early sixties in national races and hill-climbs with an Abarth-Simca and a Lotus 23.

In 1968 he purchased an ex-Winkelmann Racing Brabham to race in Formula 2, but found the going tough. He returned in 1969, and by mid-season was getting more competitive, taking sixth in the F2 class in the German GP, and fourth in the Rhine Cup at Hockenheim.

In 1970 he acquired a March 702 and took a win in the Preis von Deutschland at the Nurburgring. He also took wins in the Swiss Championship at Hockenheim and Ulm-Laupheim.

Perrot raced a March 712 in 1971 starting 30 races and reportedly finishing in all of them. In round one of the Swiss Championship at Flugplatzrennen Sembach Sembach, near Kaiserslautern, Perrot took the win in the wet despite spinning on the first lap without losing the lead. He won by a lap on the short circuit at Hockenheim in July and by a lap at the IV ADAC Hohenloher Flugplatz-Rennen Niederstetten in August. In October he won the VII FRC 3-Stunden-Rennen Formula Libre race at Hockenheim lapping all but one of the other cars.

In 1972, still in Formula 2 now with a March 722/16, he once again took a number of good results. He also drove Siffert's March 701 in the Jochen Rindt Memorial Trophy F1 race at Hockenheim to finish 11th.

Finding his F2 car ideally suited to hill-climbs, he concentrated on that discipline from then on.
