This was probably one of my first motor racing photographs taken during practice for the British GP of 1964. This image depicts the infamous Innes Ireland in the British Racing Partnership car exiting Woodcote corner in front of the pits.
Saloon car racing in the 60's produced the David and Goliath battles between the American Ford Galaxies, Falcons and Mustangs against Ford Escorts, Lotus Cortinas and Mini Coopers. Paddock Hill bend at Brands Hatch was always fast and furious on the first lap.

David Piper's Lola T70 at Copse Corner Silverstone
The inside of Copse Corner at Silverstone was about as close as a photographer was allowed to get - if you dared !! This shot of Sid Taylor's Lola T70 was taken with a standard 50mm lens on a 35mm SLR - I was kneeling down behind the low concrete wall. This would not be allowed today.

Portrait of Ken Tyrell -
I could not resist this shot of BBC Commentator, John Bolster, so engrossed in lap times he was completely oblivious to his surroundings. John was one of the great motor racing characters of that era, always wearing his famous deer stalker he had a wonderful sense of humour and was tremendously knowledgeable.
