Kerry Earnhardt is the eldest son of the late racing legend, Dale Earnhardt. During his career he has competed in Street Stock racing to the highest levels of NASCAR. Currently competing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Kerry Earnhardt from Kannapolis, North Carloina, is the eldest son and a splitting image of his late father, the racing legend, Dale Earnhardt. Taken away by his mother as a child, it was only later that he found out that his father was Dale Earnhardt.

He started racing in 1992, racing street stocks against Dale Earnhardt Jr, and later his sister Kelley. In 1993 he moved to the Goody's Dash Series, posting eight top-10 finishes in 11 starts, with a best of seventh in his first Florida 200 at Daytona.

In 1994 he raced at his local track, the Hickory Motor Speedway driving Late Model Stock Cars in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series. In 26 starts, Earnhardt finished 10th in the point standings and Rookie of the Year honors. returning the following season he posted five top-five finishes and eight top-10 finishes in 24 starts.

After running selected Busch Series races in 1998 and 1999, Earnhardt moved to the ARCA series in 2000. With a win and four top-five finishes, he also made his debut in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series when he raced at Michigan International Speedway, competing against his father and brother.

The 2001 season brought more success to Earnhardt as he claimed three ARCA victories including a win at Lowe's Motor Speedway and in the season finale at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Kerry competed in the NASCAR Busch Series from 2002-2003 with Fitz-Bradshaw Racing, his only full season in any of NASCAR's Big 3 series. He finished 22nd in the points. He drove for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup in a limited schedule during the 2004 and 2005 season.

He raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2005, taking pole for the Florida Dodge Dealers 250 race in his debut. However after 2 races was released due to lack of sponsorship. For 2006, Earnhardt signed to race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series again, this time with ThorSport Racing. They parted ways at the end of the 2006 season.
