Sunny Hobbs is an accomplished female racecar driver with diverse racing experience on both oval tracks and road courses, sports cars and stockcars.

Her stock car experience includes ARCA ReMax, late model stock cars and late model trucks. In 2005, Sunny gained valuable on-track experience by competing in her two ARCA events at Daytona International Speedway and at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Prior to that, for two years, Sunny competed in NASCAR's Weekly Racing Series in a Late Model Stock Car at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC. The NASCAR Weekly Series is the country's leading program for weekly short track racing. Before moving to North Carolina to pursue her racing career, she logged a partial season at short tracks in Virginia. She raced her late model stock car at South Boston Speedway, Langley Speedway and finished up the season at Southampton Motor Speedway. Prior to racing late model stock cars, Sunny raced late model trucks. In 1997, she finished 5th in points competing in the Pro Supertruck Series at the high-banked, 4/10 mile Southern National Speedway in Kenly, North Carolina. Sunny began her oval track racing at Southside Speedway where she had 3 successful years in the Charger division.

In addition to her stock car racing, Sunny has been competing in various sports car events sanctioned by the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) and NASA (National Auto Sport Assoc.). In the 2005 season, she brought home a win at Road Atlanta in a Factory Five Cobra; which was her second in that class – having earned another win at Virginia International Raceway in the Valentine’s Day 200, a NASA endurance race.

In 1999, Sunny was selected, after try-outs to compete in the WGGT (Women's Global GT), a series featuring the fastest women drivers from around the world in identical Panoz/Ford Esperante race cars.

Sunny also raced sportscars in the ITA and ITE class of SCCA (Sports Car Club of America, as well as racing in the EMRA (Eastern Motor Racing Association) series and has won several events racing an Eagle Talon in the ITE class. She has wins at Rockingham (on the oval and in-field road course), and at Summit Point Raceway (2 mile road course) in an EMRA event. She also finished 2nd at Summit Point in an EMRA 4-hour night endurance race.

Sunny is a member of the Lyn St. James Automotive Team. She attended the Lyn St. James Driver Development Program in Nov. 1995, which included seat time in a Spec Racer, IMSA Mustang and ASA stock car.
